Terms of Service
Last updated: August 25, 2026
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are the agreement between PetersenSoftwares LLC, a California limited liability company doing business as Stager Tech ("Stager Tech," "we," "us"), and the staging business that signs up for an account ("you"). They cover our websites, the web app, the iOS app, and everything reachable through them — together, the "Service."
By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is part of them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. This is a business-to-business product: you confirm you are at least 18, that you are using Stager Tech for your trade or business rather than as a consumer, and that you have authority to bind the business you are signing up for.
What Stager Tech is — and what it is not
Stager Tech is software for professional home stagers. It runs projects and inventory, builds proposals, contracts and invoices and gets them signed, collects payment from your clients, schedules and tracks your crew, captures rooms in 3D on supported iPhones and iPads, and drafts communications with AI assistance.
It is a tool you use with your own clients. The staging agreement is between you and the homeowner, agent, builder or investor you are working for — never between them and us. When you send a proposal, a contract or an invoice through Stager Tech, you are the party making that offer and the party bound by it. We are not a party to it, we do not review it, and we take no responsibility for the staging services you provide, the quality or timeliness of your work, what your documents say, or any dispute between you and your client. Prices, terms, refund and cancellation policies are yours to set and yours to communicate.
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for your own internal business purposes while your subscription is current. You may not resell it, provide it as a service bureau, reverse engineer it, use it to build a competing product, or bulk-extract it other than through the export features we provide.
We are actively building, so features change. We aim to keep the Service available and to answer support email at help@stagertech.com within one business day, but neither is a guaranteed service level unless we have signed something separate with you.
Your account and your crew
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for everything that happens in your workspace, whether or not you authorized it. When you invite crew, you choose their role, and roles are what decide what each person can see and change — including whether they can see money. We enforce the permissions you configure; we do not decide who should have access, and reviewing that access when someone leaves your business is your job. Anything an invited user does in your workspace is treated as if you did it.
Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
Plans and prices are listed on the pricing page and in checkout. Prices are in US dollars and exclude sales, use and similar taxes, which are added where we are required to collect them. The current plans are:
- Inventory & Projects — $79 per month, or $790 per year where annual billing is offered. 1 seat, and 150 AI credits per workspace per day.
- Complete Studio — $149 per month, or $1,490 per year where annual billing is offered. Unlimited seats, and 450 AI credits per workspace per day.
Your subscription renews automatically. At the end of each billing period it renews for another period of the same length and the payment method on file is charged at the then-current price, until you cancel. Your subscription payment is processed by Stripe on our own account; we never receive or store your full card number. There is no free trial today: the first charge happens when you subscribe.
You can cancel at any time, online, in a few clicks. Go to Settings, then Plan & billing, then Manage billing, which opens the Stripe billing portal — or email help@stagertech.com. We will not require you to call anyone, sit through a retention offer, or take any step harder than the steps it took to sign up. Cancelling stops future renewals and your subscription stays active through the period you have already paid for. Except where the law requires otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable and partial periods are not pro-rated.
If a charge fails we may retry it, and we may suspend or downgrade the workspace after continued non-payment, following notice by email. We may change prices with at least 30 days notice by email before the change applies at your next renewal; if you do not want the new price, cancel before that renewal. AI features are metered in credits per workspace per day, and pause until the allowance resets when they run out.
Money your clients pay you
This is a completely different flow of money from your subscription. Your subscription is what you pay us. This is what your clients pay you, through the Service.
If you connect your own Stripe account, your clients can pay proposals, invoices, Smart Files, deposits and installment plans by card, and on some document types by US bank transfer. Those payments run on Stager Tech's Stripe platform account as Connect destination charges and are transferred to your own connected Stripe account, less our platform fee and less Stripe's own fees. We do not hold your funds as a balance beyond the moment of transfer and we do not operate a bank account your client payments land in.
We are not a bank, a money transmitter, a payment processor, a payment facilitator, an escrow agent, a lender, or a collection agency. We are software that instructs Stripe, and — where you set up an installment or recurring plan — a scheduled job that initiates the later charges on your behalf. You appoint Stager Tech as your limited agent for accepting payments from your clients, so a payment made through the Service satisfies your client's obligation to you at the moment it succeeds, whether or not the funds ultimately reach you from Stripe. That appointment is limited to collecting payment and creates no other agency, partnership or fiduciary relationship.
We charge a platform fee on payments your clients make to you through the Service. The default is 1% (100 basis points) of the payment amount, deducted automatically at the time of the payment. The rate that applies to your workspace is shown in Settings, under Payments & fees. It is separate from and in addition to Stripe's own processing fees, which Stripe charges you directly. We may change the platform fee on 30 days notice by email or in-app; collecting payments through the Service after that notice period means you accept the new rate.
Your use of Stripe is governed by your own agreement with Stripe, including the Stripe Services Agreement, which you accept directly with Stripe during its hosted onboarding. Where Stripe's terms and these Terms conflict as to your Stripe account, Stripe's terms control. Stripe can suspend, restrict or close your account under its own rules and we cannot override that. You must stay inside Stripe's list of prohibited and restricted businesses and follow the card network rules that apply to you as a merchant, which includes showing your business name and address to the cardholder — so keep your business profile in Settings accurate, because that is what renders on your documents.
Refunds are yours to decide and yours to fund. Chargebacks and disputes are yours: you respond to them, you carry the disputed amount and any dispute fees, and where the platform is charged back for a payment made to you, you will reimburse us for the disputed amount and any resulting negative balance. Bank transfers can fail or reverse days after they look successful — a document marked paid in the Service reflects what Stripe told us at that moment and is not a guarantee that funds have irreversibly settled, so reconcile against your Stripe dashboard. If you set up an installment or recurring charge, you are responsible for telling your client before they authorize it how much will be charged, how often, for how long and how to cancel. Collecting and remitting tax on what you invoice, and your own bookkeeping, licensing, bonding and insurance obligations, are all yours; the tax fields, ROI estimates and reports in the Service are conveniences, not tax or accounting advice.
Your data, and your clients' data
You own everything you put into the Service. We do not claim ownership of it, and we use it to run the Service for you, to keep it secure, and to support you. What we collect and who it is shared with is described in the Privacy Policy.
Much of what you put in is about other people — homeowners, agents, crew. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to give it to us, for any notice or consent that privacy or employment law where you operate requires, and for using what comes back lawfully. That applies in particular to crew check-ins, which can record a crew member's name, notes, photos and approximate location: we provide the tool, the monitoring is yours. It applies equally to photographing or 3D-scanning a property you are working in.
Email you send through Stager Tech
The Service sends email either through our own delivery provider, with your business name in the display name and your address as reply-to, or through your own Gmail mailbox if you connect one, in which case Google sends it as you.
For every commercial message the Service sends on your behalf you are the sender under the CAN-SPAM Act and its state and foreign equivalents. Stager Tech is only the tool that transmits it. That means you must only message people you have a lawful basis to contact — an existing or prospective business relationship, an enquiry, or express consent — and never a purchased, rented, scraped or harvested list. You must use accurate from, reply-to and subject lines, include a valid physical postal address and a working unsubscribe mechanism in commercial messages (the Service does not add either for you — put them in the message body or your signature), honour every opt-out promptly and across all your sending, and respect any do-not-contact status you record for a client. Adding a promotional pitch to an otherwise transactional invoice or reminder can turn the whole message into a commercial one, with all of the above attached. We cannot guarantee any message is delivered, avoids a spam folder, or arrives on time, and we may throttle or pause sending from a workspace whose practices threaten deliverability for everyone else.
AI features
AI features draft text, read photographs and structure documents for you. What they produce is a starting point, not a finished professional work product: it can be wrong, and you must review it before you send it to a client or rely on it. The content an AI feature works on is sent to the AI providers named in the Privacy Policy, who process it as our providers and do not train on it. You are responsible for what you do with the output, including anything inaccurate or harmful you pass on to a client. Outputs are not legal, financial, valuation or real-estate advice.
Share links and client-facing pages
Proposals, contracts, client portals, scene pages, pull lists, crew pages and calendar feeds are shared by a link carrying a long random token. Anyone who has the link can open that page without logging in, there is no password, and links do not expire on their own. Some of those pages can carry sensitive detail — a pull list can show a lockbox or alarm code — so be deliberate about who you send one to. Proposal, Smart File and client-portal links can be revoked from inside the app; scene links, pull lists, crew pages and calendar feeds cannot be revoked individually today. Choosing what to share, and with whom, is yours.
Documents signed through the Service are signed electronically, and you and your client agree that an electronic signature has the same effect as a handwritten one. We keep a signing record — the signature image and typed name, the time, the IP address and browser, and a fingerprint of the exact document that was on screen — as evidence of it. We do not warrant that any document you assemble in the Service is legally enforceable, or that it suits your jurisdiction or your deal. That is between you, your client, and your own lawyer.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service, and not to let anyone in your workspace use it, to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, publicity or contract rights;
- send spam or unlawful marketing, or otherwise breach the email section above;
- upload malware, or try to reach the Service, another customer's workspace, or any connected system without authorization;
- probe, scan or load-test the Service without our written permission — responsible security reports are welcome at help@stagertech.com;
- evade rate limits or quotas, or script the app in a way that degrades it for anyone else;
- upload material that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, obscene, sexually exploitative, or that depicts or promotes violence or illegal activity;
- record, photograph, scan or surveil any person or property without the permission the law requires;
- run a business Stripe prohibits, or process payments unrelated to your staging business through the Service;
- hold Stager Tech out as a bank, a payment processor, a payment facilitator, or a reseller of any third-party service;
- share credentials, or let people outside the seats you pay for use the Service; or
- use the Service to build, train, benchmark or improve a competing product.
Disclaimers
Except as expressly stated in these Terms, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," with all faults. To the fullest extent the law allows we disclaim all warranties, express, implied or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or trade usage. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, that data will never be lost, that AI outputs, estimates or third-party property data will be accurate, that documents you create will be enforceable, or that the Service complies with the laws that apply specifically to your business. We are not your lawyer, accountant, appraiser, real estate professional, insurance advisor or employer of record, and nothing in the Service is professional advice. Some states do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither party is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, lost goodwill, lost or corrupted data, or the cost of substitute services — even if told such damages were possible.
Each party's total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the total fees you paid us in the twelve months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. That is a single aggregate cap across all claims, not a cap per claim. It does not apply to your obligation to pay fees, platform fees, chargebacks and reimbursements; to your indemnity obligations below; to your breach of the acceptable use section; or to either party's fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited by law. These limits are a reasonable allocation of risk and a basic part of the deal — our pricing depends on them. Except for payment claims, any claim under these Terms must be brought within one year of when it arose, to the extent the law allows.
Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Stager Tech and its officers, directors, employees and agents from any third-party claim, and any resulting loss, damage, fine, settlement or expense including reasonable legal fees, arising from or related to: the data you put into the Service, including any claim that it infringes rights or was collected, used, stored or shared unlawfully; your breach of the sections above on other people's data or on email and messaging, including any spam, TCPA, wiretap or privacy claim; the staging, design, moving, storage or rental services you provide and any dispute with your client, including damage, injury and payment disputes; any contract, proposal or invoice you create or send using the Service; your use of AI outputs; your breach of acceptable use or of applicable law; and the acts or omissions of anyone in your workspace, including anything arising from crew location tracking, photography or property access.
We will defend you against any third-party claim that the Service itself, used as these Terms allow, infringes that party's US patent, copyright or trademark, and pay damages finally awarded or agreed in settlement. That does not apply where the claim arises from your data, from a modification we did not make, from combining the Service with something we did not provide, from AI outputs, or from your continued use after we asked you to stop and offered a replacement. If the Service is or may be infringing, we may obtain the right for you to keep using it, change it so it is not infringing, or terminate the affected part and refund prepaid unused fees — and that is our whole obligation for infringement claims. Either party claiming indemnity must notify the other promptly, give it control of the defense, and cooperate at its expense.
Suspension and termination
These Terms start when you create an account and run until your subscription ends and your workspace is closed. You can leave at any time, as described above. We may suspend a workspace immediately where we reasonably believe it presents a security, legal or payment-fraud risk to us or to anyone else, and we will tell you why. We may terminate for a material breach you do not fix within 30 days of written notice, immediately for a breach of acceptable use we reasonably believe cannot be fixed or presents ongoing risk, or on 30 days notice if we discontinue the Service generally — in which case we refund prepaid, unused fees.
When your access ends, scheduled sending and automations stop. Share links you have already issued may keep working until you revoke them or your workspace is deleted, so revoke any link you want closed before you leave.
What happens to your data when you leave
If your subscription lapses or you cancel, your workspace becomes read-only: your data stays where it is and you can still open and export it. We delete it when you ask us to.
To have your account and all associated data deleted, email help@stagertech.com from the address on the account. Deletion is processed within 7 days, matching the commitment in the Privacy Policy, and it is permanent — export first. Note that the "reset all data" tool inside the app clears your workspace records but does not by itself remove your login, documents already sent for signature and any signatures on them, published client portals, lead submissions, crew check-in history, payment records, or files already uploaded; ask us if you want all of that gone.
We may keep data we are legally required to keep — payment and tax records in particular — records needed to establish or defend legal claims, security and abuse logs, and aggregated data that cannot be tied back to you. We also cannot reach into systems we do not control: an email already delivered, a payment Stripe has processed, or a document your client downloaded stays where it is under that party's own rules.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before starting a formal proceeding, both parties agree to try to resolve the dispute informally: send a written description of the dispute and the relief you want to help@stagertech.com and to 24607 Montevista Cir, Valencia, California 91354, and we will negotiate in good faith for 30 days.
Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and each party consents to jurisdiction and venue there. Each party waives any right to a jury trial. Either party may still ask a court for temporary injunctive relief to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, the "Last updated" date above changes and the published version gets a new version identifier. The version in force right now is 2026-08-25. The version that was in force when your account was created is recorded against your account, so an acceptance is always attributable to the text that was actually on this page at the time rather than to whatever it says later.
For a material change we will give you at least 30 days notice by email to your account address or by a prominent in-app notice before it takes effect. If you do not agree, cancel before that date — continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. Changes required by law, by a provider we depend on, or to address a security risk may take effect with shorter notice.
Everything else
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service and replace any prior discussions; terms on your purchase order or vendor portal do not apply. If a provision is held unenforceable it is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing something once does not waive it later. We are independent contractors — apart from the limited payment agency described above, these Terms create no partnership, joint venture, employment or general agency relationship. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to a successor in a merger or sale of the business. We send notices to the email address on your account, so keep it current. The Service is offered from the United States and intended for US customers; if you use it from elsewhere, complying with local law is on you. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to comprehensive US sanctions and are not on a US restricted-party list.
